5. The Social Network (2009)
Have you ever thought about sharing a student apartment with a college friend and, during one night, creating one of the most famous social networks in the world? This is not something that happens every day, is it? In the case of the feature film The Social Network (2009), this dream is possible. The plot revolves around the life of Harvard student Mark Zuckerberg (Jesse Eisenberg) who, during an autumn night in 2003, decides to stay in his dorm room to develop an idea he had: a platform to connect students at his college, exchange summaries, discuss topics and share documents from disciplines.
In real life, he developed the new tool alongside four other colleagues: Dustin Moskovitz, Chris Hughes, Andrew McCollum and Brazilian Eduardo Saverin. What they didn't imagine was that six years later and more than 500 million users, Facebook would become the most accessed social network in the world.
This kind of connection and invention is rare, but when experienced in a group, it is much more satisfying. This is the spirit of Uliving: encourage community life and your personal and professional growth!
