Currently, UFRJ has campuses in Rio de Janeiro (Cidade Universitária, Centro, Praia Vermelha and isolated units), Duque de Caxias and Macaé. Of the campuses in Rio, the one with the greatest infrastructure is Cidade Universitária, located on Ilha do Fundão. In all, the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro offers 176 undergraduate courses, such as Administration, Accounting, Engineering, Journalism, different Degrees, Social Work and many others.
To enter the university, students must take the National High School Examination, known as ENEM, and then apply for vacancies through SISU. In addition, to enter some specific courses, candidates need to take the ENEM test and also the THE, Specific Skill Verification Test.

UFRRJ
The Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro received its name in 1967, but its history began years earlier. In 1910, then president Nilo Peçanha founded the Escola Superior de Agronomia e Medicina Veterinária. However, after some changes, the university came to the name it still has today.

The second phase consists of a specific discursive test that involves an essay and two disciplines that are related to the course that the person chooses.
The State University of Rio de Janeiro has 65 free undergraduate courses and seven campuses spread across the state of Rio: Petrópolis, São Gonçalo, Nova Friburgo, Resende, Duque de Caxias, Teresópolis and Rio.
PUC-Rio
The Bishops of Brazil had as their goal the creation of a Catholic university. Therefore, in October 1940, the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro was founded. PUC-Rio is a private higher education institution located in Bairro da Gávea, in the south of the city.
The university offers 40 undergraduate courses, 22 graduate courses and also professional development in the areas of human, biological and exact sciences. According to Times Higher Education, PUC-Rio is considered the best private university in Brazil.
