#1 First of all, it is important to know the differences between the two types of graduate programs.
According to MEC, lato sensu comprise specialization programs and include designated courses such as MBAs.
With a minimum duration of 360 hours, at the end of the course the student earns a certificate, not a diploma.
In addition, they are open to candidates who have graduated from higher education courses and who meet the requirements of educational institutions (Art. 44, III, Law No. 9.394/1996).
Stricto sensu post-graduate programs, on the other hand, comprise master's and doctoral programs open to candidates who have graduated from higher education courses, and who meet the requirements of educational institutions and the student selection notice.
